Tuesday Ten: 10 Shades of Alexis Marie!
What made you get into blogging?
I always love to write. When I apply for writing jobs, they would reject me. As a personal reason, they didn’t care about what writing style I had. When I had tons of articles already written, I decided that I was going to put them into good used, that when my blogging journey came into the picture.
What has change since you started blogging?
As a personal note, a lot has change. Some don’t even have they own voices when it comes to blogging, they copy each other and that something that I don’t want to take part in. Blogging has always been a competition for some, but now it even more of a competition, who does it better, who has the most views, who has the most of anything. To me, I don’t want to make my blog into a competition, I am doing it for the love of writing and the love of fashion.
Where does your blog name come from?
Captivate Styles is a name that came to me one day and I simply fell in love. The story goes Captivate came from the name of a perfume that was my all-time favorite and it still my favorite. Styles came from because the love of styling and fashion. So I simply put those two together, got Captivate Styles.
How would you describe your blogging style?
I don’t really have a blogging style. I just write what I feel and what I want. I don’t have a blogging style. I have blogging niche.
What has been the greatest challenge in your blogging journey so far?
The challenge that I face every day is I keep doing what I love. I can write what I want and be my own boss where I only answer to myself.
What has been the greatest failure you had accomplish during blogging?
The greatest failure is not getting enough traffic to my blog and not enough advertising to make money off my blog.
What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog?
I have joined a lot of networking from Instagram to lemon 8. I just became verified on Instagram and Facebook. So, I am hoping that helps.
What are your own personal challenges for being a blogger?
My own personal challenges is being able to keep up with blogging, instead of ghosting it for a few weeks, doing it for a few days then stop. To be honest, I don’t want to do that anymore, I want to be able to come home from my job and simply get on the blog and just write. My other personal challenges are not making any money for the blog. To be honest, she should speak for herself.
What are your strengths that helped you in blogging?
My strengths are I am able to speak for myself, I am not something that going to be copying from others, I found my strengths in doing what I love. Writing is something that I love, I blog, I write poems/songs, I even write short stories and I am hoping that I can write novels next, it something that I love.
What advice would you give someone if they are interested in being a blogger?
Never give up, if it something that you want to do, never give up. There will be times where you think you fail, but at the end of all, you didn’t. Just get back up and try again. It better to give it a shot again. There are trials and error, we can’t let that define us, if we did, where would we be. All I can say, I never want to go there. I want to do what I love. Get back on the horse and give it a shot.
