Tuesday Ten: Tips to get for the Holidays!

When it comes to the holidays, we are either stuck in a bind or tired because we are always running around to prepare for the holidays. Sometimes that is not enough, especially when you are the only one cooking and decorating, so it is hard on you. I have come up with 10 easy steps for you this holiday season, that will make the holidays a little smoother for you and the family. It would even be something that you can either cook, watch television, or listen to music, and it is also something that you can even do with the kids. Just know you can even repeat these steps for Christmas and all the years to come especially when you are in a bind and need help. Just take the holidays as easy as they can come, and don't wait until the last minute to get things done, Start by doing a little bit every day. As I whip up some apple pie in the oven and also some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, getting Thanksgiving dinner all set for next week. Let's take a peek at what I have to make the Holidays a little easier for you to come........
1) Always have a blank canvas
When it comes to decorating, it is a lot easier to have a blank canvas than to have all the stuff on one table or in a space where you have to decorate. It is better to clean off the space first before you should decorate.
2) Make sure your home is clean
This is the biggest tip that needs to be done prior to decorating and prior to making the food. Because a clean house is better than having a dirty one, because the reason why, because you don't know where to start and also you don't know what to do. So I suggest is having a clean home before starting any projects.
3) Always sort out your decorations before you put them up
Before hanging any decorations up, you should go through your decorations, so you know what you have and what you don't. Also make sure that none of them are broken, including the ones for inside and outside.
4) Check to see if your decorations are broken
Make sure anything that none of these are broken, if they are, then make sure you have some spare money in your purse or in a jar, so you can at least go out and buy some new ones, but don't go overboard on the decorations.
5) Also have Christmas music playing in the background
In order to make it feel like the holidays, you can always put some Christmas music on and start either doing some decorating or cooking and just think that your family is there with you.
6) Always have something baking in the oven
This is one is for the kids, you can always have them help make cookies or cupcakes and have them make it their own. Also, you can have a cake. It sometimes hard when you are doing it alone. but it also gives a time to think about things that you never thought of. When I have things that is cooking, I also have cookies, before it is easier, and also it doesn't take that much time.
7) If not music, then have Christmas movies on to make it feel like the holidays
You can also have Christmas movies playing in the background, I know there are some tv stations that have Christmas movies on. They might give you the inspiration you are looking for when you decide to decorate your home.
8) Make sure every dish in your home is clean
This is very important to do and make sure they are clean and also make sure that they are stacked up high in order to make a big mess. Also try to make sure that every pan in the house is clean, because you are going to need it for at least a holiday, just don't know which one.
9) Always have a backup turkey or ham
Always have a backup turkey or ham. because you never know when you might end up screwing it up, especially when it is your first time baking. Speaking about someone who experiences it. Yes, I know, it was a little dry with a little of to much pepper to no salt.
10) Always incorporate old stuff with the new stuff
This is something that I love and personally I do it all the time. Because that is what makes the holidays feel special, which I love. I love the fact that the old decorations can tell a story about the new decorations and it feels like a happy home.
If you have any tips that you would like to share, please leave them in the comments below.
