Ask Alexis: What are Some Self-care Tips!

Self-care has always been my favorite because it allows me to focus on myself and forget everything else. When it comes to self-care, we all need to learn that it focuses on ourselves, it is a break time that is so hard to do, but so meaningful in the end.  There is no doubt about that. So, when it came to reading one of my readers' questions, it was simple because I knew what needed to be done.  

Hi Alexis, I need help starting over after a long-term relationship. I've neglected self-care and don't know where to begin. Can you give me some advice?

Practicing self-care can be challenging, especially when attempting to initiate it. Often, individuals neglect their well-being. However, there is always an opportunity for a fresh start. Here is some advice:

Pamper yourself: Take a bubble bath, relax, read a book, or watch your favorite show. Find the activity that works best for you.

Set Boundaries: Learn to say "no" and understand your energy levels.

Exercise Regularly: Engage in physical activities to boost your mood and energy levels.

Take it Slow: Enjoy your self-care time. If you prefer to take things slowly, you have the right to do so. Don't let anything rush you. Take all day for yourself if needed.

Set Goals: Establish goals that contribute to your growth and are valuable to you.

Eat Healthily: Maintain a balanced diet rich in nutrients to support your overall health.

Engage in Hobbies: Pursue activities that you enjoy, keeping your mind active.

Prioritize Sleep: Ensure you rest sufficiently to rejuvenate your body and mind.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated.

Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as meditation, to reduce stress.
